I am a freelancer who specialises in creating and delivering artwork and assets for major film marketing campaigns and film premiere events…
…and I love it!
I have a passion for film posters and everything associated with them.
I have worked on the highest grossing movie campaigns and film franchises of all time.
A little background information
I have been freelancing for the last four years but I have been working in the Design for Print and Graphic Design industry for 30 years
Freelancer | Creative Artworker | Retoucher | Visualiser | Designer | Studio Manager
I started out in magazine publishing back in 1989 for about 4 years then spent a further year gaining more experience within repro houses and printers. I then moved into the city to Lloyd Northover Citigate, an advertising and marketing company specialising in the financial and insurance sector. I then joined global management consultants Accenture, working for their in-house creative services department. Onwards and upwards to brand gurus Wolff Ollins and Superunion (formerly Brown KSDP) fine tuning my branding, typography and packaging skills. Next stop national TV institution ITV, becoming Studio Manager for their in-house home entertainment design studio. Then in 2004, still at ITV, an opportunity arose to design the film poster for The Shawshank Redemption, as a lifelong collector of records and vintage film posters I jumped at the chance. That experience, dealing personally with Oscar winning Director Frank Darabont and Illustrating legend Drew Struzan, gave me the bug and cemented my next career move to FEREF.

I joined FEREF in 2006, a Soho based company specialising in film advertising and marketing for nearly 50 years. Working with the film industry’s leading studios, Disney, Marvel, Sony, Paramount, Fox, E-One, Pathé, Studio Canal, Universal, Warner Brothers, Dreamworks and Lionsgate, contributing to some of the highest grossing movie campaigns and film franchises of all time.
As Head of Print, my job comprised of designing and producing artwork and assets for, Film Posters, Key art, National Press Campaigns, Social Campaigns, POS, Outdoor Print, Large Format, Billboards, Building Wraps, Movie Premieres, In-Cinema, Merchandising, Online, Digital Out of Home (static and full motion), Brand Development, Brochures, Home entertainment and Game packaging. Also taking on any High-end retouching and Image Manipulation/Composition.
As Systems Administrator, responsible for everything Apple related within Feref. The smooth running of the Apple Server and Raid (I am Apple Certified for OS X Server). All Apple Mac IT and maintenance issues. Backups and archiving. Hardware procurement and setup. Software procurement and implementation and Adobe Creative Cloud Administrator.
During my last two years at FEREF as an extra side project, I was restoring and organising their vast film advertising and poster archive from the last 50 years, rediscovering unused poster designs and long forgotten gems from the past. I curated several mini exhibitions and presentations about the archive and my discoveries.
I recently (2021) completed a book for FEREF called FEREF UNSEEN which showcases the artwork from many of my discoveries in the archive

Below is a small gallery of pictures from a couple of talks that I have given, one was dedicated to the legendary illustrator Brian Bysouth with a Q & A afterwards and the other was for Chariots of Fire in front of some of the original cast and crew (and I got to meet my childhood hero Alan Wells). Other presentations I have given include, Escape from New York and John Carpenter titles, the original Star Wars trilogy, Get Carter and the films of Mike Hodges, the Living Daylights with a Roger Moore tribute, Top Gun with a Tony Scott tribute, Musicals and Music related films, Chariots of fire and a Best of British presentation.
